Closed-loop: industrial scale swarf recycling
How we recover 96% of swarf back into certified raw material.

The serial production of metal components generates large volumes of swarf — in our case, over 1,200 tonnes annually. Instead of treating this flow as waste, we have built a closed system that recovers 96% of the material back into certified ingots, ready for remelting.
Process steps
- Automatic alloy separation directly at the machine
- Hydraulic briquetting with 1,800 bar compaction
- Washing and drying for coolant recovery
- Weekly delivery to ISO 14001 certified foundries
The recovered coolant covers 40% of the monthly requirement. The aluminium briquette obtained has a density greater than 2.4 g/cm³ and melts with losses under 3%, compared to 12-15% for loose swarf. The European ISO environmental standards we apply make this system a commercial advantage — not just an expense.
“True sustainability is what appears in the P&L, not just in the annual report.”
